Abigail's Party
We pay tribute to Abigail's Party to help bring out your inner Beverly!
A nostalgic revisiting of late 70s fashion through the looking glass of Abigail's Party! Transport yourself into the world of Beverly, Ange and friends for a trip down memory lane to the decade that good taste forgot in which oranges and browns, empire line maxi dresses, fan and angel sleeves, lots of tiers and wild patterns dominated the fashion scene. By way of tribute to the iconic play, we have gathered here some pieces that would not have looked out of place in late 70s middle class suburbia but are still eminently wearable today. Sizing
Customers are asked to bear in mind that vintage garment sizes bear little or no resemblance to contemporary sizes. Furthermore, current high street size labels are inconsistent, with M&S and Wallis being noted for their generous proportions while others come up on the small side.
Please always refer to the measurements provided in the item description rather than the garment label size, and note that any ‘best fit’ suggestion we make will be based on modern day sizing. By way of example, our own suggested standard size 12 dress has an underarm to underarm measurement of approximately 19" with a waist size of 30".
In order to best gauge the suitability of an item, you may find it useful to compare our stated measurements with those of one of your own garments which is a comfortable fit. Our garment measurements are taken with the item laid flat, and all sizes in our descriptions are approximate.
